You can add a device manually in Genetec Clearance™ by docking the
device in a docking station connected to your system and authenticating it with Genetec Clearance™.
Before you begin
The following prerequisites apply when registering devices:
You must have an active internet connection.
You must be a member of the Manage devices
security policy.
What you should know
The device must be authenticated before you can upload video from it.
Procedure
Dock the device.
Click Configurations
> Devices.
Click Create new device.
Enter a name for the device, the device serial number, and specify the
manufacturer and model of the device.
Click Save.
The device is created.
From the BWC Config Tool window, double click on the
device you want to activate.
Set the System mode to UDE
System.
In the Menu section, select Network
(Back-End).
Set the System Configuration to Obtain
DNS server automatically.
Note: If this option is not available, you must enter your preferred DNS
server manually.
From the Devices page in Genetec Clearance™, copy the device credentials and then paste them in the UDE
Settings section of your device configuration tool
window.
In the device configuration tool window, click Apply
changes.
From the Devices page in Genetec Clearance™, assign the device to a user.
Click Activate device.
The device can now upload recorded video to Genetec Clearance™.
