What's new in Clearance
2025-05-06Last updated
Check out what is new in the latest update to Genetec Clearance™.
What's New: May 2025
- Retention and data management updates
- We’ve made a series of improvements impacting how administrators can manage
retention policies and review deletion schedules in Clearance. Specifically, these updates facilitate the review
of cases and files in the recycle bin and allow you to report on files
scheduled for deletion.
The following is a summary of the main updates:
- New “uncategorized” retention policy
- This policy is used to define a deletion period for uncategorized files. By default, this option is set to Never delete. Once activated, the policy applies the retention schedule to all new and existing files that are uncategorized. This policy replaces the deletion policies that were based on the evidence source.
- Enhanced reporting capabilities
- Review upcoming deletions from the recycle bin and filter for files up to one year in advance. This update helps you determine whether you need to extend a case’s retention period, or protect a file from deletion.
- Preview case and file metadata from the recycle bin
- Additional entity details are now displayed in the recycle bin. You can review the reason why files were deleted, and preview case and file metadata without the need to restore them.
- Relocated recycle bin access
- The recycle bin is now accessed from within the Retention page rather than by way of its own menu tab.
