Adding devices

You can add devices in the Genetec Clearance™ system by connecting through the Genetec Clearance™ Uploader application. To add a device in the system you must dock the device.

Before you begin

The following prerequisites apply when registering devices:
  • You must have an active internet connection.
  • You must be a member of a Manage devices security policy or have Manage devices permissions.
  • The Genetec Clearance™ Uploader must be installed and associated with a Genetec Clearance™ account.

What you should know

The first time that you dock a new device, the device is automatically detected and added to the system.
IMPORTANT: New devices are not visible if you have not installed the Genetec Clearance™ Uploader and associated it with a Genetec Clearance™ account.

To add a device:

  1. Dock the device.
  2. Click Configurations > Devices and refresh the Devices page.
    NOTE: The device serial number is automatically imported as a unique identifier. If a device was previously added, it is displayed as either Activated or Deactivated.

    Your device is now in the system and displayed in the devices list with the state New.

After you finish

You can now activate the device license.
