Adding i-Pro BWC4000 body-worn cameras

Before you can upload video to Genetec Clearance™ with an i-Pro BWC4000, you must add the i-Pro BWC4000 in Genetec Clearance™ by docking the camera in a docking station connected to your system, configuring the camera, and authenticating it with Genetec Clearance™.

Before you begin

The following prerequisites apply when registering i-Pro body-worn cameras:
  • You must have an active internet connection.
  • You must be a member of the Manage devices security policy.

What you should know

The i-Pro BWC4000 body-worn camera must be authenticated before you can upload video from it.


  1. Dock the camera.
  2. Click Configurations > Devices .
  3. Click Create new device.
  4. Enter a name for the camera, its serial number, and specify the manufacturer and model.
  5. Click Save.
    The body-worn camera is created.
  6. Log into the BWC4000 configuration tool.
  7. From the BWC Config Tool window, click Detect ().
  8. If necessary, assign a temporary IP address to your camera.
  9. Click Edit ().
    The BWC4000 Configuration Tool window opens.
  10. From the Edit configuration file window, click the Evidence server tab.
  11. In the System Mode section, select UDE.
  12. In the Device Management Server section, enter the information you copied from the Credentials section.
  13. From the devices page in Genetec Clearance™, click Activate device.
The i-Pro BWC4000 body-worn camera can now upload recorded video to Genetec Clearance™.
