Genetec Clearance™ defines two user roles. Regular users have access to a broad range of functionalities by default, while guest users are more restricted.

Regular users
Regular users typically manage investigations and cases.
Typical
regular user profiles:
- Investigators
- System managers
Functions available to regular users:
- Creation and management of cases
- Use of Search and the Video editor
- Access to Registry, Video Request, Retention, and Dashboard modules, based on assigned access
Guest users
Guest users have limited access to Clearance. They are often
temporarily involved in cases to contribute evidence and conduct oversight.
Example:
A human resources manager might use a guest profile
to request video footage of internal workplace accidents.
Typical guest user profiles:
- External collaborators
- Colleagues from other departments
- Teammates not directly involved in investigations
Functions available to guest users:
- View cases and download files if granted permission to do so
- Submit video requests, if granted permission to do so
- Contribute evidence to cases if invited to do soNote:The level of access a guest user has to a case is determined by their case permission level. For details, see Permission levels.
- No access to case creation
- No access to Clearance Search
- No visibility on any cases and files that they have not been invited to view
